Description
This series was a study in close-ups, narrowing down an existing and familiar element(s) of reality until it becomes an independent, abstract matter that articulate the details, lines, form and textures all created by contrasts and colors.
A different kind of realism that borders on the abstract yet remains recognizable. My goal was to explore interesting compositions in which we can recognize the subject or object found in nature (in this case leaves), yet push the boundaries of two-dimenional imagery through photographic techniques. These images are part of a larger body of work.
