Cold Spring Barn
I’ve been photographing this beautiful rustic old barn on a serene waterfowl pond near Caledonia for a few years now, beginning in March of 2023. The barn has progressively deteriorated and so this series is not only about documentation but also means to become artful as well. I’ve documented this beautiful barn in all weather scenarios. You can see over a period of 28 months that this structure is continuing to be compromised. My photos reveal that the roof and several walls have fallen in yet the structure still stands, revealing a historic evolution of the decline of an old rustic barn. The sitting barn is still a beautiful landmark and a stunning landscape. The late fall and winter seasons have taken a toll on this building and I expect that it won’t be too long before it becomes a “what once was” barn on a beautiful and serene waterfowl pond.
